United Ants 02 Academy Brixton April 13th
On April 13th United Ants who need no introduction brought their ever evolving colony to London’s O2 Academy Brixton for their biggest show outside of Ibiza and it was certainly one to remember.
With a stellar line up including Eats Everything, Groove Armada and Ants resident Andrea Oliva combined with one of London’s most iconic venues it was destined to be nothing short of spectacular.
Here’s our full review of what went down :
Venue :
The 5,000 capacity academy located in South West London is one of the leading music venues in the country. We’ve attended O2 Academy Brixton a few times with mixed experiences. There can occasionally be an odd smell looming from the dated academy and a fairly uncomfortable crowd however this was not the case this time round.
Staff - Bar staff were friendly and helpful, queues for the bar were moderate however nothing too long. There are multiple bars situated around the venue so you have plenty of choice if one was looking over crowded.
Crowd :
The crowd were fantastic and we had nothing but good vibes throughout. The event wasn’t sold out however the venue was still filled at a good level but with enough space to enjoy the event.
Production & Sound :
Production - Lighting and production was spot on, from lasers that cleared the room to strobes that would blow your mind at the drops this was something that really did bring the event to life. Various different holograms/visuals and a 3-D Ant was also part of the production which looked spectacular.
DJ Sets :
The place was pumping right from when we arrived. Dennis Christopher had opening duties followed by a strong set by SecondCity to get the crowd going. Waze&Odyssey didn't disappoint and was sure to drop their new track "Down With Tha, which was more than well received.
A timeless set by Groove Armada was then met by Eats Everything who never disappoints. The set of the night however has to go the closing man and Ants resident; Andrea Oliva. An absolutely blinding set that kept the crowd pumped with his iconic tracks and remixes that have a truly recognisable sound of hard hitting basslines.

Overall
All in all we give Ants at Brixton a 4/5. A great night that will long be remembered, well organised, produced and executed. Fair play Ants, hopefully see you soon.
