Preview : Butterfly Effect Festival London, 28th-29th July

VIVa Warriors and Do Not Sleep to host stage at new London festival

On the 28th & 29th July a brand new, fresh festival will grace the UK capital. Landing in Croydon, the London borough known for breakthrough UK music and emerging talent. The Butterfly Effect Festival will adorn the home of electronic music legend; Skream and the King of self-promotion; Artwork. The festival's intention and vision is to give back to a region that has gifted us so much musically over the decades.

Location and Transport
Not only is the location classed as a UK musical mecca, it also boasts some of the best transport links for a festival anywhere in the UK. Hosted at Lloyd Park, the nearest train station is East Croydon. Average journey times from here to main train station hubs are as follows:

London Bridge: 20 minutes
Waterloo: 29 minutes
Victoria: 19 minutes
Gatwick: 21 minutes
Kings Cross & Charing Cross: 20-30 minutes.

For those travelling from outside of the city, the central location provides brilliant transport links throughout the UK, with multiple services from around the country coming into the capital.

The Saturday event will run from 12pm to 10pm, with Sunday starting at the same time, however finishing at 9pm.

Saturday
The two day event will cater for people with a range of different tastes in electronic music. Saturday being gifted for the garage heads with Pied Piper, Shola Ama, veteran duo DJ Luck & MC Neat and plenty of other MC’s and DJs on the suitably named Garage Salvation area.

The Afrobox stage will diversify the range of music on offer for the weekend, adding a line-up full of energetic afro-beats artists, bringing a welcome shift of pace to the day. Rounding off Saturday's offering are two special guest appearances from Radio 1 XTRA DJ Charlie Sloth and KISS FM regulars; Tough Love.

Sunday
The day we'll be eagerly waiting for, hosted by VIVa Warriors and Do Not Sleep. The two global house brands will be joining forces to host Butterfly's main stage. Birmingham born Steve Lawler will bring his VIVa Warriors trademark to the capital, after 5 successful seasons at Sankeys Ibiza, which has gathered quite the following. A respected artist in his own right holding a variety of accolades, including 5 DJ award wins from 2000 to 2008 and 11 nominations up until 2015. Lawler's experience in the scene has given him the tools and knowledge to make this a party to remember.

Alongside the Warriors will see Darius Syrossian's label Do Not Sleep. A brand which also has a close relationship with Sankeys Ibiza, holding a previous Tuesday night residency. 2018 has seen another step forward for DNS, securing a weekly spot hosting the infamous club room of Amnesia every Thursday night, with London heavyweights ABODE on the terrace. With Darius Syrossian once being a VIVa Warriors resident himself, the partnership with DNS is destined to be a match made in heaven.

The Warriors Do Not Sleep line-up isn’t huge in terms of numbers, but it is crammed full of quality. Head honchos Steve Lawler and Darrius Syrossian will feature with Art Department, Detlef and Secondcity filling the talent packed stage, guaranteed to deliver some grooving, energetic tech house.

With their inaugural year boasting a strong bill and rare partnership between leading brands, Butterfly Effect are making a bold statement to get the ball rolling. Signifying they intend to compete in a busy London festival market, with a long list of competitors. We're excited to see what this brand new spectacle has to offer.
