Preview : We Are FSTVL 2018

Since it’s inaugural event in 2013, We Are FSTVL has since become one of the most anticipated festivals in the dance music calendar.

Starting off as a one day event and playing host to 25,000+ visitors, the festival has now taken the shape of a three day heavyweight spectacle, welcoming over 60,000 people from across the globe.

Set on the late May Bank Holiday weekend each year, 2017 saw the long awaited introduction of an additional day, opening We Are Camping on the Friday before the main event and signifying it's continuous growth.

With 2018 being their 6th edition, the mammoth event is looking to go bigger and better on every front, in the hope of adding to their already impressive five awards, including the UK Festival Award for Best New Festival in 2013 and Best Dance Event in 2016.

Based in the outskirts of London, and only a 20 minute train from Central, a mighty 142 acre space known as Damyns Hall Aerodrome in the town of Upminster, houses We Are FSTVL each year. Over the three days, this space will see over 300 acts on 30 different arenas (yes, 30 stages!), bringing a diverse selection of genres and artists from across the dance spectrum. In addition to it's unrivalled line ups, a strong focus for the festival has been to immerse it's fans in ground-breaking custom built structures, packed out with world class production and face-melting sound systems. Last year saw the addition of the astonishing, 450ft long mega-structure; Terminal 1.

The festival has had a strong industry following and supporting cast from day one, having partnered with some of the biggest house and techno brands on the planet. Just last year alone saw Paradise hosting the colossal Terminal 1 arena, along with separate stages for Cocoon, Circoloco and Defected to name a few.

Along with these brands you can only expect the world's biggest artists to follow, with Jamie Jones, Sven Vath, Marco Carola, Armand Van Helden and the man behind the famous “OH YES OH YES!” (Carl Cox), all featuring in the line up.

We Are is also committed to giving lesser-known brands and artists a platform to perform on a big stage, with London brands YMO & Cutting Edge making huge statements on their own stages last year.

2018’s upcoming instalment has shown no signs of slowing down, with an upgraded Terminal 1 stage, 40% bigger than it's predecessor, going by the name of Terminal 1.1 and the recent phase 5 announcement of the mega line up bringing even more talent to London. This year will see the return of many fan favourites, with the main stage over the weekend hosting the likes of Bicep, Eric Prydz, Marco Carola and Gorgon City, whilst brands such as Jamie Jones' Paradise, Ibiza's disco phenomenon Glitterbox, and London's most talked about party; ABODE hold their own stages once again, bringing powerhouse DJs with them.

Aside from the returning faces, 2018 will feature some new exciting names which have caught the eye of many. Making their debut, German giant's HYTE will join Saturday's offering, armed with a line-up of techno geniuses to start the weekend off with a bang. Their new stage bringing Carl Cox, Ben Klock, Enzo Siragusa, Green Velvet, Loco Dice and Mall Grab is sure to reel in plenty of budding techno heads. Along with HYTE, artists which have made some serious noise in the past year will make their anticipated first performance at We Are in 2018, including a live masterclass from Stephan Bodzin, the techno queen Amelie Lens, and Glasgow's high energy performer; Denis Sulta.

Don't hang about, tickets for We Are FSTVL 2018 are due to sell out any day now, seal your place here. See you at the front!
